Assist with Online Job Applications and Cover Letters

Chrysalis serves people navigating barriers to the workforce by offering a job-readiness program, individualized supportive services, and paid transitional employment. We empower our clients on their pathway to stability, security, and fulfillment in their work and lives.

The OJA/Cover Letter Volunteer will:

• Provide one-on-one support to clients by creating and updating cover letters 
• Provide one-on-one support to clients by helping complete online job applications, including, and not limited to, searching for openings, filling out applications, completing application assessments, etc. 
• Empower clients on how to confidently speak and present their professional experiences and backgrounds throughout the job search
• Communicate with assigned Volunteer & Program Coordinator after shift(s), in the case of any client issues, changes in volunteer schedule, etc. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Highly motivated by Chrysalis’ mission and desire to improve social and economic
2. fabric of our community
3. Be at least 18+ years

5. Attend a volunteer informational session 
6. Be prepared to work with individuals who have limited work experience
7. Be willing to work respectfully with people of all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds 
8. Intermediate Computing and Applications (comfortability using Microsoft Word)
9. Complete online training modules
10. Honor confidentiality of client records and sign volunteer handbook and agreement  

Please note all opportunities are ongoing and require a commitment for at least 6 months. Flexible, at least every other week for a minimum of 1 hour during Chrysalis business hours:

Monday – Thursday from 8a – 4p, Friday from 8a – 12p .

Opportunities are only held in person at one of our offices locations throughout Southern California.
