The Gesa Power House Theatre is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a nonprofit organization committed to building a strong, inclusive community through the performing arts. Volunteering with us is fun and flexible. Our shows include a little bit of everything: Dance performances, concerts, independent film, live theatre, stand-up comedy, and community events. Volunteers are often the first point of contact when a patron enters the theater, and you play a vital role in ensuring that our patrons have a memorable and safe experience.
GPHT volunteers must be at least 18 years old to become an adult volunteer. All volunteers must complete an in-person volunteer orientation. The next orientation dates are TBD.
Volunteers help our patrons and guests in a variety of ways. Your role as a volunteer may include directing patrons to their seats, scanning tickets, distributing programs, helping people finding the restrooms and the balcony, opening/closing doors to the auditorium, observing patrons during a show/event to help as needed, and assisting with clean-up of the auditorium after a show/event.
We also have volunteer opportunities outside of show events like decorating for the holidays, helping with mailing campaigns, and distributing posters.
Volunteer benefits include:
