She Desires to be MD

She Desires to Be MD is a global, student-led nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women — especially women of color — who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and healthcare. Our mission is to close the representation gap in medicine by providing mentorship, leadership opportunities, educational resources, and a supportive community that helps students navigate the path from high school to college, pre-med, and beyond.

We believe that every aspiring physician deserves access to guidance, community, and confidence-building opportunities regardless of background. Through mentorship programs, college and pre-med preparation workshops, speaker panels with students and professionals from top universities, and student-run chapters, we aim to equip the next generation of women in medicine with the tools and network they need to succeed.

At the heart of She Desires to Be MD is a commitment to community, representation, and empowerment — fostering a space where young women can grow as learners, leaders, and future healthcare professionals.
