    PURPOSE

    Creative Fundraising Advisors (CFA) is building capacity as we bring the best and brightest people and ideas to work with our mission-driven, nonprofit clients. We are looking for a dynamic professional with a growth mindset and expertise in data management and visualization specifically related to fundraising. Interested applicants should be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a highly responsive, entrepreneurial environment and by having a key role in helping our clients make data-informed decisions to advance their fundraising goals. This role will report to CFA’s Senior Manager of Data Solutions and will work cross-functionally with CFA staff and project stakeholders.

    The Data Solutions Manager is a role that is designed to further CFA’s commitment to providing comprehensive and creative solutions to our nonprofit clients. Successful candidates will bring a depth of analytical and project management experience and passion for the power of data to shape strategy and communicate compelling stories that serve the unique needs of our clients.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support all data analysis and survey components of CFA projects including Development Assessments, Feasibility Studies, Campaign Planning, and Campaign Counsel
    • Collaborate with CFA Senior Manager of Data Solutions and CFA Consultants on assessing the specific data needs of each client
    • Support data analysis (Yield Estimates, Annual Giving Analysis etc.) as part of CFA projects, including but not limited to:
      • Work with clients to collect and combine all data in preparation for analysis
      • Conduct screenings through DonorSearch and Melissa Data
      • Create and edit data analysis report slides, including executive summaries, methodologies, charts, and tables to inform fundraising strategy recommendations
    • Support stakeholder surveys as part of CFA projects, including but not limited to:
      • Create draft survey questions in SurveyMonkey
      • Compile standard survey results (demographics, etc.)
      • Create and edit survey report slides
    • Work in conjunction with CFA Project Managers to set and meet deadlines regarding data requests and delivery
    • Manage CFA’s quarterly Client Feedback Survey and compile results; this could include developing recipient list, managing distribution, monitoring results, and reporting on analysis
    • Participate in weekly meetings with the CFA team, client teams, and other meetings

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 4-6 years of experience with data management and/or data visualization for nonprofit organizations and/or fundraising initiatives
    • Flexibility working with a wide range of data sets from simple to complex
    • Advanced user of Excel, knowledge of Power Query preferred
    • Knowledge of data integration, and visualization platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or similar preferred
    • Highly proficient user of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and PDF applications
    • Solutions-oriented experience in data analysis with strong creative thinking and storytelling skills and the ability to pull out key insights and communicate the “so what” behind the data
    • Familiarity with emerging fundraising and philanthropy trends and best practices
    • Accepts and applies feedback from colleagues, manager, and client stakeholders in a professional manner to meet project objectives
    • Comfortable working independently
    • High sense of urgency, responsiveness, and exceptional attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with a team in a remote-first environment

    COMPENSATION

    The salary band for a Manager at CFA is $60,000-$80,000, benchmarked to the Minneapolis-St. Paul market, and depending on experience and qualifications. There is room to grow over time based on a strong ability to regularly exceed expectations and demonstrate skills growth or take on additional responsibility.
