    Reporting to the CEO, you will be making an impact on what really matters: enabling schools and education nonprofits to deliver on their missions through diversified revenue. Beyond that, you will play a key role in the continued growth of a thriving fundraising consultancy and will have the opportunity to build and lead a team.

    We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional with a passion for education to directly manage a growing team of up to five development professionals and directly support 3–4 school and nonprofit partners in strengthening their development strategies and advancing fundraising initiatives of all sizes. This role will focus on building and managing donor pipelines, conducting prospect research, crafting fundraising strategies, overseeing event management, and leading cultivation and stewardship efforts. Additionally, responsibilities include appeal writing, grant writing, project management, and ensuring the internal infrastructure necessary for fundraising success. The Director of Fundraising Services will also lead and manage marketing and communications strategy for the company, playing a key role in driving FundEd's revenue growth and impact on our nonprofit and school partners.

    What You Will Accomplish

    Within the first year, you will have established yourself as both a strategic partner and a hands-on contributor. You are someone who not only advises partners and designs solutions, but also adds capacity by stepping in where needed, solving problems in real time, and approaching challenges with curiosity and a strong desire to learn and take action. This is not just a consulting role, it is a leadership opportunity for someone eager to build, refine, and contribute at every level of the work.

    • Fundraising Counsel and Support (40%)
      • Craft comprehensive fundraising strategies in alignment with your partners’ unique work, capabilities, and fundraising goals.
      • Support annual fund and capital campaign planning and initiatives for school partners.
      • Collaborate with your partners to identify prospective donors, conduct independent research, and strategize stewardship efforts to engage new prospects and elevate existing relationships.
      • Advise on and support annual and multi-year development planning.
      • Support fundraising event planning and strategy, as needed.
      • Provide training, fundraising support and philanthropic counsel to your partner’s board and senior leadership.
      • Provide grant writing support and review, as needed.
      • Assess your partners’ core fundraising capabilities, make recommendations for improvement, and develop action plans to address gaps.
      • Take the lead in strategy execution, including foreseeing potential roadblocks and proactively problem-solving.
      • Assist with the improvement of your partners’ development infrastructure to support sustainable pipeline management.
    • Team Management (30%)
      • Lead a growing team of up to 5 fundraisers who are overseeing their own partner portfolios. This includes supporting their work, as needed, and investing in their professional development.
      • Set clear team goals and performance metrics, conducting regular performance reviews to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and foster professional growth.
      • Support hiring efforts by identifying staffing needs, participating in the hiring process, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new team members.
    • Thought Leadership and Problem Solving (10%)
      • Collaborate with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team to strategize big-picture growth, assess capacity, and cultivate the pipeline for new and existing business.
      • Support the development of an internal repository of fundraising best practices and contribute to content creation for external communications, tools, and resources.
      • Contribute to FundEd Strategies’ culture, core values, and mission.
      • Represent FundEd externally by presenting at conferences, participating in sector conversations, and showing up as a senior leader to advance FundEd’s thought leadership, expertise and growth.
      • Take the lead in strategy execution, including foreseeing potential roadblocks and proactively problem-solving.
    • Relationship and Project Management (10%)
      • Lead weekly or bi-weekly partner meetings.
      • Build and maintain strong, supportive, responsive and trusting relationships with partners.
      • Develop comprehensive project plans that ensure timely deliverables and clear accountability.
      • Track project against goals, timelines, and deliverables to proactively address challenges.
      • Adapt support to meet partner needs while keeping projects aligned with quality, scope of work and budget.
    • Marketing and Communications (10%)
      • Lead the company’s marketing strategy, including design, planning, and execution.
      • Manage the FundEd’s digital presence, including website content, email campaigns, newsletters, and social media platform(s).
      • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure marketing strategies align with business development and partner engagement goals.
      • Develop key messaging frameworks for FundEd’s services and impact, and ensure they are used consistently across channels.
      • Track and analyze marketing performance metrics, adjusting strategy based on data and audience engagement insights.

    Experience You May Bring

    • 5-10 years of fundraising experience working in or with nonprofit organizations as a senior fundraiser, Development Director, Development Manager, or Consultant.
    • 3+ years of experience managing and growing a team.
    • Must have demonstrated success developing and managing annual fund campaigns, corporate giving, or major gifts as well as experience planning fundraising events and leading integrated marketing strategies.
    • Experience launching new development programs, new fundraising initiatives, as well as strengthening and scaling existing efforts such as annual giving campaigns, corporate giving, or major gift programs.
    • A track record of developing strategies and action plans resulting in six and seven figure gifts.
    • Experience working with stakeholders and building strong relationships.
    • Knowledge of Washington, D.C. Indianapolis, New Orleans, New York, Colorado or Texas funding landscapes, a plus
    • Charter school, private school, or K12 education nonprofit fundraising experience, preferred.

    Benefícios

    This is a full-time, completely remote position. Some travel for conferences and at least one annual team retreat may be required. Applicants should generally be available to meet with clients during standard East Coast business hours. As a Director, Fundraising, you will receive a total rewards package that includes an annual salary, bonus opportunities, healthcare reimbursement, tech stipends, and opportunities to leverage philanthropy. More specifically, FundEd will offer the following benefits:

    Compensation

    • Salary. The full-time annual starting salary for this position is between $90,000 - $100,000. Due to our commitment to internal parity within each position and across the company, we make our best and final offer when we make an offer. We do not negotiate salaries.
    • Bonus Eligibility. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses.
    • Tech Stipend. Employees will receive a monthly technology stipend to pay for cell phone, internet, and office supplies, such as additional monitors, bluetooth accessories. Etc.
    • 401K. The company automatically contributes 3% of the employee's salary to a qualified 401k account.

    Health and Wellness

    • Paid Time Off. 15 days (accrued from first day of employment; available for use after 90 days). Additional paid time off is provided for bereavement, jury duty, and parental duties.
    • Paid Sick Leave. 9 days (accrued from the first day of employment).
