4) BuildaBridge and the Art of Self-Care – In Person
This workshop will introduce trauma-informed art-making practices that are proactive and reactive tools to face life's adversity, allowing special insight into how BuildaBridge's work is valuable in marginalized communities, but also in your own life. BuildaBridge is an arts and education nonprofit that uses art-making as a tool for healing and hope-raising. Working with trauma-affected youth and communities across the metropolitan area, BuildaBridge teaching artists use arts-based metaphors to enrich participants' lives in and beyond workshops. The intrinsic and therapeutic value of the arts share a sacred space in BuildaBridge's pedagogy and create pathways to strengthen participants' resilience, self-efficacy and hope-infused futures. If you can hope, you can heal.
