The
mission of the Syracuse Citizen Review Board, a nationally respected agency for
the civilian oversight of law enforcement, is to facilitate a
citizen-controlled process for the review of grievances against the Syracuse
Police Department. The Board consists of 11 members appointed by
the Mayor and the Common Council and governs all operations of the agency. In the past five years, the CRB investigated
an average of 94 complaints each year.
