    Community Engagement Director

    (Full-Time, Exempt, Salaried; Start Date by August 1)

    We are seeking a Community Engagement Director to work closely with the Executive Director (ED) to co-create and implement the strategy for our community engagement program. They would support the teachers and partner sites in sustaining and developing long term relationships to continue providing sliding scale adaptive dance education to diverse populations across greater Boston. They would also support in building new partnerships with one time workshops or year round partners to continue expanding our programming.

    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of teachers, volunteers, and programming coordinator
    • Create hybrid systems of check ins with teachers and partner sites to ensure that ADB curriculum goals are being met to assess the overall success of both teacher and partners
    • Create contracts and monitor payments/funding for partner sites with ED
    • Works with ED to coordinate messaging and materials to reinforce the ADB brand in marketing
    • Update curriculum as needed with each teacher to ensure that various students’ accommodations are being met
    • Point of contact for teachers/partner sites (with support of community engagement coordinator) to handle any last minute substitutions, changes in programming, and other adaptations as needed
    • Supervise coordinator in managing logistics of the program as well as seasonal volunteers/interns to support classes and other activities
    • Collect data to ensure the growth via Salesforce, Excel, and other means for reporting purposes and to improve program design and implementation
    • Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities as requested by ED to continue amplifying the program

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have 5 years teaching ballet/modern/contemporary technique with willingness to learn adaptive dance practice. Adaptive dance experience is a plus but not required.
    • Must have supervisory experience
    • Able to be independent worker in remote settings and collaborate with team members as needed in virtual or in person settings to continue monitoring the program
    • Strong communication skills to handle good and challenging conversations with teachers, partner sites, and the administrative team
    • Strong organizational skills and leadership skills to manage multiple sites and lead a team simultaneously
    • Commitment to building intersectional disability justice practices through their role
    • Salesforce experience appreciated but not required
    • Must pass CORI check
    • Comply with our current COVID protocols of masking in person

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The demands of the position change on a daily basis but often require sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The position will include periods of driving to off-site meetings, and a personal vehicle is strongly recommended. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires extended hours and occasional evening and weekend work, with flexible hours to ensure balance in overall capacity. Accommodations to these physical demands and work environment can be made as long as the person in the position still completes the essential functions of the job.

    This position does include a 90 day trial period to evaluate performance and cultural fit within the team. ED may conduct a 30-day review, a midpoint assessment, and a final 90-day evaluation to ensure the employee is meeting performance expectations.

    SALARY & BENEFITS:

    This is a one year at-will contract, with an option to extend pending grant funding and overall success in the role. The salary is $50,000 at 40 hrs/week. While it is not quite where we would like it to be, we have benefits to compensate. The hours are flexible and hybrid. (In person responsibilities will be largely dependent on teacher/site needs and workshop dates.) There will also be special events/performances that you would have at least a month in advance to prepare for. There is 100% employer paid health insurance (excluding dental/dependents); 2 weeks PTO with 4 weeks company wide closures; IRA with 3% employer matching; and flexibility residing anywhere in the state of MA to offset rising Boston living costs as long as able to commute into sites when needed without additional compensation.
