    • Steward relationships with current foundation and individual donors; identify and pursue opportunities for engagement beyond required reporting.
    • Identify, research, and cultivate new prospects; arrange introductory meetings with potential funders in collaboration with the VP of Partnerships & Engagement, President & CEO, and senior staff.

    • Oversee—and refine on an ongoing basis—grants management, donor engagement, and prospecting processes to ensure grant deliverables are coordinated and met efficiently and to promote donor retention and revenue expansion.
    • Manage grants calendar, grant application and reporting processes, and PHI’s quarterly and annual foundation and donor meeting cadences, in conjunction with the Grant Writer; monitor and adhere to deadlines for proposal and report submissions, and coordinate ongoing meetings with foundation staff.
    • Develop and maintain an internal grants management system that ensures all staff have clear guidance on grant requirements and program deliverables, are prepared to participate in stewardship meetings with funders, and can articulate outcomes and impact internally and externally.
    • Understand and help to inform PHI’s organizational voice; communicate our message and value to potential funding sources, both in our written materials and verbally, while appealing to each funding source’s mission and intent.
    • Produce—and guide the Grant Writer in producing—concise, clear, persuasive, and strategic fundraising materials (including, but not limited to, lead drafting and editing/revision of reports, proposals, letters, and appeals).
    • Produce an annual external-facing PHI impact report, in collaboration with PHI’s Senior Director of Communications and Marketing and Grant Writer.
    • Review and interpret program data and incorporate it into fundraising materials as appropriate.
    • Monitor trends to help position PHI ahead of major changes or movements in relevant fields (philanthropy overall, long-term services and supports, etc.).
    • In collaboration with the VP of Partnerships & Engagement, actively explore, design, and implement new revenue-generating programs that go beyond PHI’s current focus on institutional giving.
    • Hold regular meetings with senior staff from PHI’s Policy, Workforce Innovations, Research & Evaluation, and Strategic Initiatives Teams to discuss the funding needs of their departments, any new opportunities for fundraising, and any changes to their program designs that may impact existing or future funding.
    • Hold meetings with the Finance Team to inform the development of program/grant budgets, ensure the timely completion of related deliverables, and monitor PHI’s receipt of committed grant payments and donations.
    • Monitor all donor information in PHI’s portfolio; provide and present statistical analysis to the VP of Partnerships & Engagement, President & CEO, and other senior leadership.
