About PALS Programs
PALS is a growing nonprofit that creates inclusive camp experiences for individuals with and without Down syndrome. Our programs are led by young, inspiring volunteers and have been designed to change attitudes, transform lives, and inspire a world of belonging. As an organization committed to a more inclusive world, we recognize the importance of having our community reflect the areas we serve. The need for young people - both with and without Down syndrome to find connection and purpose— is more important now than ever.
Position Overview
The Regional Program Coordinator at PALS Programs supports the operational aspects of our camp in a key region, ensuring that each program runs smoothly from enrollment to execution. This individual will work on a regional team with a manager and one other coordinator, supporting and growing all the efforts in the region. This role is critical to the success of our mission, providing support across various functions, coordinating with other regional staff as well as central employees, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all participants and staff. As PALS transitions to a new strategic plan, we will be hiring Regional teams in each of our four areas and are looking for individuals who can be flexible and adapt as the plan builds and each regional team grows into its final form.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Skills & Experience we are looking for:
Terms & Compensation
This is an exempt, full-time position according to the FLSA, with an expectation of approximately 40 hours/week and a salary range of $55,000-60,000. While PALS office hours are generally 9 am - 5 pm PT, work hours may vary depending on time and season. Occasionally, our young volunteer leaders meet with staff in the evening, or we host weekend events, and employees are encouraged to flex their time to accommodate these needs.
The employee will work remotely and is expected to have a dedicated workspace for phone calls, video conferences, and independent work. This position will require travel to at least two-three weeks of programming on location during the summer months, and should be prepared for on-call support. Our regional roles will operate in a hybrid fashion, where we will expect employees to be out visiting and engaging on-site with our community partners in addition to working out of their home office. PALS will provide the employee with a laptop, a generous PTO policy, monthly reimbursement for internet/phone, and a monthly reimbursement for healthcare premiums.
PALS is a fully remote team, and this regional position must live and work in California. PALS is prioritizing applicants from Northern California, specifically San Francisco, San Jose, and the greater Bay Area.
Equal Opportunity Employer
PALS is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workspace. We recognize that this takes consistent work and are committed to continual improvement. We believe that diverse ideas, cultures, and traditions reflect the broad diversity of the U.S. and are essential to building our vision of a community of belonging. PALS encourages applicants to describe in their cover letter the unique contributions they, as individuals with diverse experiences, would bring to the organization. We particularly encourage BIPOC (Black people, Indigenous peoples, and People of Color) to apply.
