Job Title: Campaigns Director

We are looking to hire: A detailed strategist who will draw upon their previous work experience to drive change and build power for Maine’s pro-environment and pro-democracy movements using innovative advocacy and organizing tactics. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building both a strategy and team to win. They will understand Maine’s political lay of the land and how to operate successfully within it. They will be a natural relationship builder who can serve as a resource to our developing team members and represent our organization to a diverse group of stakeholders and supporters.
Primary Responsibilities: This person will design and implement electoral, issue advocacy, and public education campaigns to protect the environment, democracy and our climate future. This role is designed to: build political power by electing people at the state level who will champion environmental stewardship and; expand support and create momentum to defend, pass, and implement our policy agenda.
Job Description: The Campaigns Director will manage the electoral campaigns of MCV’s affiliated PAC — Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund (MCVAF). This includes working closely with staff and members of the PAC Advisory Committee to plan and implement MCVAF’s independent expenditure programs.
In addition, the Campaigns Director will develop and lead issue advocacy campaigns to advance progress on MCA/MCV’s core priorities, including ensuring access to clean water, building a just climate transition, conserving land for people and wildlife, helping to recognize sovereignty for the Wabanaki Nations, and cultivating a healthy, accessible democratic system.

Salary: The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $90,000. Salary will be determined based on relevant experience, education, and skills directly related to the role
Position Type: This is a full-time, at-will, exempt position. Reports to the Executive Director.

Location: Augusta, Maine. Maine Conservation Voters, Maine Conservation Alliance, and the Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund (MCA/MCV/MCVAF) have a physical office in Augusta. This position requires being fully present, in-person, at the State House during the legislative session and can be hybrid when the legislature is not in session.
