Position Context: Economic insecurity isn’t a new challenge, and the wealth and income inequality that have long plagued our country continue to grow. Building off his first-of-its-kind guaranteed income pilot, the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration, Mayor Michael D. Tubbs founded Mayors for a Guaranteed Income in June 2020. Rooted in Dr. King’s legacy, the network advocates for guaranteed income policies—direct, recurring cash payments—to lift all of our communities out of poverty and build a more just and resilient America.
Since launching, MGI has grown its ranks from 11 to 180 mayors across the country. We have also launched two affiliates – Counties for a Guaranteed Income and Legislators for a Guaranteed Income. All together, our coalition has 72 pilots that have disbursed more than $350 million in direct unconditional relief to everyday Americans. Along the way, we’ve shifted public opinion – a Lake Research Partners poll shows that nearly ⅔ of voters support a monthly guaranteed income of between $500-$1,000, including a majority of independents.
Position Summary: MGI is seeking a Digital Strategist to lead our digital presence and help grow public awareness, engagement, and action in support of guaranteed income. You’ll create, implement, and optimize digital strategies across platforms to advance MGI’s policy goals, support our policymakers and pilots, and amplify the stories of those most impacted by economic injustice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategy & Execution (~40% of time)
Content Creation & Management (40% of time)
Data & Analytics (~10% of time)
Other duties as assigned by MGI staff & consultants (~10% of time)

The salary range for this position is $85,440 - $106,560. The posted range reflects the full salary range our organization reasonably expects to pay for this position. While the final offer will depend on experience and qualifications, we anticipate hiring near the midpoint of this range to bring someone on that can grow in this role.
