    Descrição

    POSITION: Regional Organizing Coordinator

    STATUS: Full-time, permanent, exempt

LOCATION: Remote - Houston (Harris County)

    SALARY: $55,000 Annually

ORGANIZATION: Planned Parenthood Texas Votes (PPTV) is the statewide advocacy and political arm of the Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas. Planned Parenthood Texas Votes works to foster and preserve a social and political climate in Texas favorable to full reproductive health care access, through legislative advocacy, grassroots organizing, and electoral activity, to promote and protect the mission of local Planned Parenthood organizations in Texas.

The work at PPTV is fast-paced and deals with complex and high-priority matters related to the public policies and politics of reproductive health in Texas. Our programs range from talking to voters about abortion access to advocating at the state legislature, organizing advocates to rally in support of reproductive rights, and training the next generation of movement leaders. We imagine a world where having a uterus is not a pre-existing condition; where people can love who they love, be who they are, and find the care they need when they need it.

PPTV’s theory of change focuses on engaging and empowering young people, women, people of color, and LGBTQ folks. These demographics represent the majority of Planned Parenthood patients, a significant proportion of Texas’ changing population, those particularly impacted by attacks on reproductive health and rights, and who are also the least engaged and represented in elections, government and politics.

    POSITION

The Organizing Coordinator (OC) is a key member of Planned Parenthood Texas Votes’ Organizing & Training team and plays a critical role in advancing PPTV’s statewide political and movement-building strategy at the regional level. This position reports to the Organizing & Training Director and works in close coordination with the Regional Political Manager to ensure organizing programs are tightly aligned with regional political priorities and statewide goals.

The Organizing Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating regional organizing programs that build volunteer leadership, expand community engagement, and support political and electoral objectives. This role leads day-to-day field execution, including volunteer recruitment, training, and deployment, while ensuring organizing tactics remain disciplined, data-informed, and responsive to shifting political conditions within the region.

Working across diverse communities and political environments, the OC translates strategy into action by implementing organizing programs that strengthen long-term power, support coalition efforts, and enable rapid response during key political moments. The Organizing Coordinator serves as a bridge between statewide organizing strategy and local execution, helping to build sustainable infrastructure that supports Planned Parenthood Texas Votes’ mission over time.

The position requires regular evening and weekend work, frequent regional travel, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, politically dynamic environment. This role requires strict adherence to confidentiality, compliance, and organizational guidelines related to political activity. This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Participate in statewide and regional planning meetings, trainings, and alignment calls.
    • Plan, implement, and manage regional organizing programs that advance Planned Parenthood Texas Votes’ political and movement-building goals, including voter engagement, issue advocacy, and rapid-response actions.
    • Independently design and launch organizing initiatives in regions with limited or emerging infrastructure, building systems, timelines, and engagement plans from the ground up.
    • Recruit, train, and support volunteers and volunteer leaders, with a focus on growing and sustaining a strong regional base over time.
    • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with supporters, volunteers, and community members to deepen engagement and leadership development.
    • Execute field tactics such as phonebanks, textbanks, canvassing, Days of Action, and other mobilization efforts, ensuring high standards of execution and follow-through.
    • Work collaboratively with the Regional Political Manager to align organizing tactics with regional political strategy and evolving political conditions.
    • Execute organizing tactics that directly support regional political priorities and statewide goals.
    • Participate as an active member of a cross-functional regional and statewide team, contributing to shared planning, learning, and problem-solving.
    • Track organizing activities, volunteer engagement, and outcomes using established tools and systems; analyze data to inform program adjustments and improvements.
    • Adapt organizing plans in response to changing political landscapes, including elections, legislative developments, and urgent mobilization needs.
    • Support coalition-based organizing efforts and participate in joint actions as appropriate.
    • Ensure all organizing activities comply with organizational policies, legal requirements, and confidentiality standards.
    • Represent PPTV professionally and effectively in community spaces, volunteer settings, and coalition environments.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • At least 3+ years of experience in community organizing, field organizing, electoral organizing, or volunteer management.
    • Proven experience building, growing, and sustaining a volunteer or supporter base, including starting programs with limited or no existing infrastructure.
    • Strong organizing skills, including volunteer recruitment and engagement, leadership development, and field execution.
    • Experience integrating volunteer engagement into broader organizational and political strategy, rather than treating volunteer work as siloed or transactional.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute organizing programs from strategy through implementation, with attention to timelines, goals, and follow-through.
    • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapting plans in response to changing political conditions.
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage people across diverse communities and political contexts.
    • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to operate independently, manage priorities with minimal oversight, and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
    • Commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission and to advancing reproductive freedom.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience building organizing programs in new or under-resourced regions, including rural or geographically dispersed communities.
    • Familiarity with Texas political landscapes, voter engagement efforts, or issue-based campaigns.
    • Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteer leaders or fellows and scaling organizing programs.
    • Comfort working in compliance-sensitive environments, including C3/C4 organizing contexts.
    • Experience using data or organizing tools to track participation, engagement, and outcomes.
    • Experience with voter engagement and field tactics preferred.
    • Ability to support rapid-response organizing during elections, legislative sessions, or political moments.
