    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fundraising & Donor Engagement (60%)

    • Execute strategies for annual fundraising to meet or exceed a total operating budget of $700,000, in addition to capital improvements to office and equipment purchases.
    • Manage donor relationships, gift acknowledgment, and stewardship
    • Lead and support efforts to grow individual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and membership programs in partnership with staff and board members
    • Write and manage grant proposals/reporting for foundation, government, & corporate funders
    • Oversee fundraising events: including the Purse-u-ability Auction and Fiesta Especial® Royal Court Campaigns
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board on major donor outreach

    Communications & Marketing (30%)

    • Develop and execute annual communications strategy in support of fundraising, program awareness, and brand visibility
    • Manage content for website, social media (Facebook, Twitter), newsletters, printed materials, and press releases
    • Support storytelling, photography, and design needs across programs and events
    • Monitor and analyze communications performance (e.g., reach, engagement)

    Organizational Leadership (10%)

    • Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy and growth
    • Collaborate with other directors on cross-functional initiatives (programs, admin, outreach)
    • Supervise interns and volunteers supporting development and communications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 6–8+ years of experience in nonprofit development, with demonstrated success in managing fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and/or grant funding
    • 4–6+ years of experience in communications and external affairs, including public speaking, media engagement, messaging strategy, and community representation
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive storytelling for donor audiences and professional, factual and courteous interactions with diverse stakeholders
    • Proficiency with data management and digital platforms (e.g., Weebly, Reachmail, Loomly, GivePulse, Monday, Jotforms, QuickBooks), with the ability to adopt and apply new tools as needed
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of working independently at a steady, consistent pace while delivering accurate, high-quality results
    • Committed to continuous improvement and personal development. Comfortable following structured processes and making decisions based on established procedures, training, and proven methods; delegates responsibly and ensures follow-through when leading or supporting others
    • Service-oriented and collaborative in nature, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and disABILITYsa’s mission; available for occasional evenings/weekends and physically able to manage event set-up (lifting up to 40+ lbs, standing for extended periods, and occasionally working outdoors)

    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $60,000 - $70,000. disABILITYsa offers a supportive, mission-driven work environment with comprehensive benefits including flexible schedule, paid time off (PTO) for vacation and sick leave, 8 paid holidays annually, 3% match to retirement plan, health insurance group plan options with 50% of premiums covered, professional development opportunities, and a phone stipend.     English – Fluent (Required):

    Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to craft compelling narratives, manage professional correspondence, and engage diverse audiences through print and digital media.

    Spanish – Conversational to Fluent (Preferred):
