The Boston University Global Development Policy (GDP) Center is seeking an Assistant Director for Communications and Outreach to work in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of global development topics and themes, a strong background in strategic communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement across both internal and external audiences. Prior experience leading and managing a team is essential.
Essential Functions:
- Communications Strategy & Implementation
- Events & Outreach
- Editorial Strategy & Oversight
- Publication of Reports and Policy Briefs
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience of at least three years in all facets of public relations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in engaging with policymakers, civil society, and the media
- Prior experience in managing a team is essential
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a large team setting
- Knowledge of global development issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Policy or Development Communications, or related field; MA degree preferred.
