    Description

    The Boston University Global Development Policy (GDP) Center is seeking an Assistant Director for Communications and Outreach to work in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of global development topics and themes, a strong background in strategic communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement across both internal and external audiences. Prior experience leading and managing a team is essential.

    Essential Functions:

    • Communications Strategy & Implementation
    • Events & Outreach
    • Editorial Strategy & Oversight
    • Publication of Reports and Policy Briefs

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience of at least three years in all facets of public relations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience in engaging with policymakers, civil society, and the media
    • Prior experience in managing a team is essential
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a large team setting
    • Knowledge of global development issues
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Policy or Development Communications, or related field; MA degree preferred.
