    Purpose of the Job

    The Finance Coordinator, under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager, is responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with various accounting functions, liaising with internal departments and external parties, and administering the organization’s various financial platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to coordinate a variety of financial tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Financial record keeping: Compiling, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial records, including ledger entries and documentation, and performing monthly closing entries.
    • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Coordinating the processes for both accounts payable (ensuring timely approval and payment of invoices) and accounts receivable (generating invoices, ensuring timely receipt of funds, securing and depositing checks).
    • Reconciliation: Reconciling financial accounts, including bank statements, invoices, and general ledger accounts.
    • Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with regulations.
    • Payroll: Ensuring proper recording of employee compensation and deductions.
    • Audits: Supporting audits by providing documentation, addressing inquiries, and helping to resolve discrepancies.
    • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (such as GAAP) and financial regulations. Assisting in the update of policies and procedures, and finance-related forms and platforms, as necessary.
    • Communication: Serving as a point of contact between the Finance Department and internal/external partners, facilitating clear communication, and resolving financial discrepancies. Conducting finance orientation for new employees. Overseeing mail retrieval and routing of contents to appropriate teams.
    • Ad hoc: Assisting with other finance-related projects, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required).
    • Experience: Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles, ideally in a similar position.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Bill.com, or similar platforms), and Microsoft Office Suite (with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel).
