    JOB TITLE: Match Support Specialist – Community Based Team

    LOCATION: 12600 SE 38th St., Bellevue, WA 98006

    DEPARTMENT: Programs – Community Based

    REPORTS TO: Match Support Program Manager

    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Full-time

    PAY RANGE: $50,000 - $52,000 annually, paid as an hourly wage DOE.

    Hybrid Work Schedule: 2 days onsite and 3 days remote, with monthly all staff meetings requiring onsite attendance

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound is looking for a Match Support Specialist who will thrive in an environment that is dedicated to serving more youth through high quality one-to-one mentoring. The match support specialist will positively impact our community through supporting volunteers, parents and youth in our Community Based program. The match support specialist is responsible for maintaining contact with matched pairs to ensure a successful and viable mentoring relationship. This role supports our organizational goal of helping all youth reach their inherent potential, especially youth who are disproportionally impacted by systematic barriers. Evening hours are required with some weekend hours required for events and activities. People from diverse communities are encouraged to apply.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Manages and supports a caseload throughout the full match lifecycle, maintaining comprehensive and professional documentation to ensure accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency.
      • Initiates and contributes to ongoing enhancements of agency practices.
      • Assists in adapting and delivering training for volunteers.
      • Promotes and maintains cooperative working relationships with community organizations.
      • Conducts scheduled in-person, telephone, and electronic contacts to ensure youth protection, match relationship development, positive youth outcomes, and customer satisfaction; identifies and addresses potential concerns or barriers as early as possible.
      • Assesses individual training, information, and support needs for each match participant to ensure a positive youth development experience for the child and a successful, satisfying experience for the volunteer.
      • Demonstrates strong proficiency in applying youth protection and risk management practices, including agency policies and procedures, across all aspects of the role.
      • Conducts exit interviews with all parties at match closure; assesses reasons for closure and evaluates re-match or re-engagement potential, including in cases of premature or unexpected closure.
      • Establishes, monitors, and meets goals related to youth outcomes, quality measures, service expansion, support contact compliance, and customer satisfaction.
      • Coordinates with other departments to identify partnership opportunities, promote agency events, and support cross-functional efforts as needed.
      • Plans and delivers targeted programming to support optimal youth outcomes. Examples of such work could include working with youth experiencing foster care, career exploration or working with youth from specific marginalized communities.
      • Provides input and recommendations for improvements in programming, workflow, and policy.
      • Plans and supports match activities and events.
      • Evaluates and reports on program data related to match support activities and outcomes.
      • Utilizes MatchForce and other data systems to ensure a high level of compliance with agency standards, impact goals, and quality measures.
      • Cross-trains across departments to provide support as needed, ensuring continuity of services and maintaining program quality during high-volume or transition periods.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

      • Bachelor’s degree with preference given to human services, education or similar; or Associate's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience; or 8 years of relevant work experience
      • Experience working with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
      • Required to communicate (verbally and written) in English.
      • Available to work evenings and weekends on a consistent basis
      • Access to reliable automobile, valid driver’s license, auto insurance required
      • Understanding of child development and family dynamics
      • Understanding of issues/barriers that impact children and families from underserved populations.
      • Ability to effectively collaborate with other staff
      • Ability to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions
      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
      • Ability to work independently exercising good judgment, decision-making and problem-solving skills
      • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
      • Ability to work with confidential information required
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in-person and via the telephone

    Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.       • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
      • Phone time: A majority of work will be spent on the phone contacting volunteers, parent/guardians, and Littles.
