About One Good Turn
One Good Turn Global Health (OGT) is a nonprofit organization providing practical medical education and training for health workers and community leaders in resource-limited settings worldwide. Our mission is to build sustainable pathways to better health outcomes through education. Since its founding in 2016, OGT has completed 70 medical education projects in 13 countries across 4 continents. Learn more at www.onegoodturn.org.
We are currently implementing our SHARE (School Health Agency, Resources, and Education) Program in Kenya, and looking to expand globally in the coming years. SHARE equips teachers in Kenya with the practical health skills and resources to serve as School Health Officers (SHOs) and provide essential health education and care within their schools. OGT’s proprietary training curriculum includes key areas such as clinical assessments (height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference [MUAC], growth curves), healthcare interventions (rehydration, menstrual pain, wound and burn care), and health education (nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, oral health). To date, SHARE has successfully trained 450 teachers across 111 schools, serving 43,500 students.
The Position
We are seeking a Development Director (DD) with extensive fundraising experience and existing networks to connect OGT with key global health funders. This is a newly created position, reflecting OGT’s commitment to expanding SHARE over the coming years. The DD will provide strategic leadership with a focus on major gifts, institutional funding, and long-term donor strategy. Working in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the DD will bring extensive expertise in global health or human rights fundraising to drive revenue growth and build a sustainable funding base. A successful DD will increase revenue by $500,000 over the next two years.
The DD works at the strategic level: setting fundraising direction, establishing and maintaining high-value donor relationships, leading grant writing, and mentoring the Communications & Development Manager (CDM). One Good Turn’s CDM leads day-to-day implementation of development strategies - including donor communications, donor record management, grant opportunity tracking, and generation of communications materials.
