    Pacific County Voices Uniting (PCVU) is hiring a full time Director of Organizing in Pacific County. This position will work on average 40 hours per week within the salary range $66,570-$75,000 depending on experience. PCVU offers healthcare benefits to employees and up to 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Depending on FTE, employees will receive up to 6.7 hours of vacation and up to 4.3 hours of sick leave every month. PCVU is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.     The Director of Organizing will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive organizing plan, as well as managing a team of organizers and working closely with an extensive and diverse coalition, and ensuring the organizing team is achieving its goals. This position will report to the Executive Director and be part of the Leadership Team. This position requires work at different hours, including evenings and weekends, and is based in Pacific County. Our work is county-wide, this position travels throughout the county. In addition, we offer regional and national training opportunities.

    Position Responsibilities

    Leadership

    • Minimum of five years experience organizing and two years in leadership positions
    • Lead the development and implementation of the yearly c3 & c4 field plan for our organizing and programmatic needs that supports centering our community- ensuring racial equity and Tribal Sovereignty are infused in our organizing and outreach work
    • Lead candidate endorsement process internally and externally; including candidate identification, recruitment, and training

    identification

    • Supervise, train, develop, and support Lead Organizer (1) and Community Engagement Organizers (up to 15) to reach goals and grow grassroots power in our community
    • Organize and host Local Candidate Forums
    • Conduct quarterly performance development opportunities for the organizing team
    • Serve on the Olympia’s (lobbying) Racial Equity Team
    • Represents PCVU in external coalitions and growing partnerships

    Collaboration

    • Work with the Lead Organizer to provide program meetings while maintaining a team approach to achieve organizational goals; model organizational culture of learning and growth
    • Co-create and maintain a Legislative Lobby Toolkit with the Communications Storytelling Specialist for the development of strategic plan for the next legislative session. The toolkit should guide field activities, clarify roles and alignment of legislative strategies and tactics
    • Attend staff , Leadership Circle, program, and other relevant meetings as necessary, that will help us effectively reach out to grassroots supporters in our campaign, advocacy, and accountability work
    • Work with the Leadership Team to contribute to grant proposals and reports that support grassroots program, and fundraising, as needed
    • Co-create an environment of healing informed care to reduce and prevent further harm to organizers and community members
    • Provide an understanding of trauma-informed care to support organizers working with community members dealing with traumatic experiences and foster an environment for collective community care

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience with the Voter Action Network (VAN) and MiniVAN
    • Experience in running a candidate or local/state policy campaign
    • Experience in managing diverse teams

    Work Environment

    • The working environment will be a mix of indoor, outdoor, physical, and stationary depending on the electoral and/or legislative season
    • This position is hybrid with PCVU office locations in Ilwaco & Raymond, for accommodations to meet office hours obligations
    • Applicants residing outside of Pacific County will be accepted, one does not need to live within Pacific County to apply for this position, however, relocation will be negotiated
