Help ensure that older New Yorkers receive the nourishment, care, and connection they deserve.

The Carter Burden Network (CBN) promotes the well‑being of adults aged 60+ through a continuum of services, advocacy, arts and culture, health and wellness, and volunteer programs. Rooted in dignity, respect, and community, we support older adults in living safely and independently. Learn more at www.carterburdennetwork.org. CBN is partially funded by NYC Aging.

    About the Role

The Home Delivered Meals (HDM) Coordinator is a vital member of our Luncheon Club team—ensuring that homebound older adults receive nutritious meals safely, reliably, and with compassion. This role blends logistics, teamwork, and heart: you’ll coordinate daily meal delivery operations, support volunteers and drivers, maintain compliance standards, and help ensure that every client feels seen, supported, and cared for.

If you’re organized, community‑minded, and energized by meaningful, people‑centered work, this role offers the chance to make a direct impact every single day.

    What You’ll Do

    • Coordinate all aspects of the HDM program, including intake, eligibility, and reassessments
    • Prepare daily delivery routes and volunteer schedules, adjusting in real time as needed
    • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with NYC Aging and City Meals on Wheels standards
    • Lead delivery crews through training, team‑building, and safety initiatives
    • Support emergency, holiday, and weather‑related delivery planning
    • Collaborate closely with case management, volunteers, and program leadership
    • Provide coverage as needed—including stepping in for deliveries during staff absences
    • Assist with monthly reporting, documentation, and audit preparation

    Who You Are

You bring a blend of organization, empathy, and initiative. You thrive in a fast‑paced, community‑centered environment and care deeply about serving older adults with dignity. You embody CBN’s core values:

    • Responsibility — You act with integrity and attention to detail
    • Boldness — You approach challenges with creativity and initiative
    • Heart — You lead with compassion and service
    • Respect — You honor the dignity of every individual
    • Community — You build connections and support a collaborative team culture

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years in program coordination, meal delivery, or social services
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with systems like PeerPlace , Vive, or STARS a plus
    • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply—Spanish especially valued
    • Familiarity with NYC Aging standards and food service safety protocols is helpful
