Jury Democracy USA is seeking a Director of Development to lead its fundraising efforts and support the organization’s growth.
This role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing donor relationships, and building the systems necessary to sustain long-term revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a fundraising strategy across major donors, grassroots fundraising, and digital channels
- Build and manage a donor pipeline, including prospecting, solicitation, and stewardship
- Establish and maintain systems for tracking donor activity, revenue, and performance
- Prepare donor materials, including briefing documents and fundraising decks
- Design and manage mail, email, digital, and online fundraising campaigns
- Identify and pursue additional funding opportunities, including partnerships and institutional support
- Ensure compliance with applicable 501(c)(4) fundraising regulations
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience in fundraising, political finance, or nonprofit development
- Demonstrated success raising funds through major donor programs, grassroots efforts, or both
- Experience managing donor pipelines and fundraising systems (CRM, tracking, reporting)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and able to work independently in a developing organizational environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 501(c)(4) organizations, advocacy groups, or political campaigns
- Familiarity with tools such as NGP VAN, ActBlue, or similar platforms and more importantly with non-partisan platforms.
- Experience with grant writing or institutional fundraising
Compensation
Competitive and commensurate with experience and with bonuses for performance. Structure (salary or contract) will be determined based on candidate fit.
