Position Overview
CACJ is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to support day-to-day operations, member services, and recurring administrative tasks. This role is ideal for a college or law student seeking professional experience in a state-wide legal organization.
The position is structured around two - three consistent workdays per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules. The primary focus is ensuring core administrative functions are handled efficiently, accurately, and consistently. This is a remote job, however travel 2-3 times a year is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesMember Services
- Serve as a first point of contact by responding to phone and email inquiries from members, registrants, and the public
- Provide timely, accurate, and professional customer service
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Managing Director and staff
- Support general office operations and organizational needs
Database & Data Management
- Maintain and update the membership and event registration database
Events & Operations Support
- Assist with preparation and logistics for seminars, meetings, and events
Communications Support
- Assist with posting pre-approved content to CACJ social media channels
- Schedule posts to maintain a consistent baseline presence
- Support drafting of monthly newsletters and communications for review
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service experience preferred
- Comfortable working with databases and online systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and basic digital tools
Work Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
- Two or three consistent workdays per week (flexible based on class schedule)
- Remote position from within California
Ideal Candidate
- Current college or law student (preferred, not required)
- Professional, responsive, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable handling routine administrative tasks
- Reliable and able to work independently during scheduled workdays
