Organization: Bristol Riverside Theatre
Position: ArtRageous Summer Camp Director
Terms of Employment: Contract, Independent Contractor
Fee: $10,000
Onsite Dates: June 29 - July 30, 2026
Location: Bristol Borough, PA
Bristol Riverside Theatre is a mid-sized regional theatre that is deeply engaged with its community. Onstage we engage audiences with exceptional performances, inspired writing, and superior productions that motivate us to think harder, to feel more deeply, to laugh more joyfully, and to reflect on ourselves and the world in which we live. In Bristol Borough we build community and connect people through the performing arts. Through BRT Education we offer programs that foster confidence, pride, and cultural appreciation.
DESCRIPTION: ArtRageous Summer Camp is a free, four-week program for youth ages 7–17. Summer 2026 will mark the 21st year of this remarkable initiative, which strengthens confidence and decision-making skills, builds communication and self-efficacy, and introduces students to multiple forms of artistic expression. Many participants return for up to ten consecutive summers, allowing us to watch them grow into leaders within the program and their community.
Campers study acting, dance, music, crafts, and social-emotional skill building in an environment that emphasizes process over product. Our diverse student body comes from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. The Camp Director must be excited to work with a dynamic group of young people — including those who may need additional support — and approach each camper as an individual. Success in this role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to respond thoughtfully to challenging behavior without judgment. The Director must be willing to listen, build trust, and help students develop tools to engage positively, invest in the program, and treat others with respect.
The successful Camp Director will bring at least four years of leadership experience in youth education and/or camps. This position requires strong administrative, verbal, organizational, and community-building skills. We seek a proactive leader who can empower staff, support campers with varied needs, and maintain a structured, nurturing environment where all students can succeed.
