The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work in over 45 countries and 29 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. Domestically, our 29 offices across the U.S. ensure new arrivals have food, shelter, and clothing, and work with refugees to help them gain self-sufficiency. Since reopening in 1995, IRC Sacramento has welcomed more than 15,000 people, supporting families as they navigate their new community and establish a sense of home.
IRC Sacramento currently operates several highly effective programs designed to meet a wide variety of refugee and asylee newcomers' needs. We provide our clients with early resettlement support, English language classes, job placement assistance, one-on-one mentoring, community orientation, and immigration services, among others. All programs are designed to help refugees become self-sufficient and productive members of their new communities.
Consider volunteering your time to make THE difference in the life of a newly arrived refugee.
