    Sobre Nós

For over 40 years, Red Earth has been dedicated to promoting the richness and diversity of Native art and culture through the year-round programming at the Red Earth Art Center, its REACH (Red Earth Arts & Cultural Heritage) Education Program and its annual events such as the Red Earth Festival.

The Red Earth Art Center, open to the public free of charge, is a cultural hub showcasing Native art and artifacts. It serves as an educational resource and a platform for Native artists to showcase their work, highlighting the rich artistic traditions of our tribal communities.

The Red Earth Art Center, custodian of a permanent art collection including paintings, sculpture, pottery, basketry, textiles beadwork and cultural materials, include the only collection of totem poles in the area, and the renowned Deupree Cradleboard Collection, one of the finest individual collections of its kind in North America. The Red Earth Art Center hosts a diverse schedule of art exhibitions each year. One of the primary goals of Red Earth is to provide an outlet for Oklahoma Native artisans to sell their work to the public.

REACH Education Program, is designed to align with Oklahoma Academic Standards, strengthens and expands year-round arts and cultural programming for teachers, parents and students. The components of the REACH program include (1) integrated classroom curriculum (2) development of Red Earth iBook for use by educators in the classroom and (3) increased accessibility via internet-based curriculum for Oklahoma teachers, parents, and students.

The REACH Education Program is tailored for K-12 students. It offers educational resources and programming across schools, enriching students’ understanding of Native culture. This program extends our reach to the younger generation, ensuring the continuation of cultural awareness and appreciation of the tribal heritage that is unique to Oklahoma.

Red Earth’s annual marquee event, the 40th annual Red Earth Festival is scheduled for August 1st and 2nd, 2026 and will be held at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. A multi-faceted event, the Red Earth Festival features a juried art market, powwow-style and social dance exhibitions, artist demonstrations, lectures and traditional music will round out the activities for the 2-day event. Attracting thousands of visitors annually, this event provides a platform for cultural exchange for a diverse audience.

The Red Earth Art Center produces a number of annual events. The annual Red Earth FallFest is an event celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day in downtown OKC. This celebration includes a youth powwow, drawing participants from across the state. The event also features an art market, providing a platform for Native artists to showcase and sell their work.

Other annual events include Treefest and the Norick Youth Art Competition and Show.
