The University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, CT is a private university with a public purpose. In 1957 a group of visionary business and community leaders shared the belief that Hartford needed a university. So, they founded one. That spirit of dedication to our community has permeated our mission ever since. At the University of Hartford, we not only prepare students for successful careers; we prepare them for successful lives as citizens in a democracy. Our academic programs are outstanding.
