The Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance use and Addiction (AMERSA), founded in 1976, is a multidisciplinary organization committed to improving health and well-being through leadership and advocacy in substance use education, research, clinical care and policy. The organization has a membership of over 300 health professionals representing a variety of disciplines including physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, psychologists, dentists, public health practitioners and allied community professionals. AMERSA hosts an annual national conference that provides a collaborative environment for sharing the latest developments in substance use research, treatment and prevention.
