The Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance use and Addiction (AMERSA), founded in 1976, is a multidisciplinary organization committed to improving health and well-being through leadership and advocacy in substance use education, research, clinical care and policy. The organization has a membership of over 300 health professionals representing a variety of disciplines including physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, psychologists, dentists, public health practitioners and allied community professionals. AMERSA hosts an annual national conference that provides a collaborative environment for sharing the latest developments in substance use research, treatment and prevention. AMERSA is committed to championing antiracism, equity and inclusion for persons who are disproportionately affected by unhealthy substance use.
