The Department of Oncological Sciences at Mount Sinai School of Medicine focuses on research in psychosocial and biobehavioral issues related to cancer prevention and control. There are a variety of populations under study, including women at risk for breast cancer, breast cancer patients, women who have undergone BRCA1/2 testing, people who have had bone marrow/stem cell transplants, and patients with inflammatory bowel disease who have been referred for prophylactic surgery.
