    The Department of Oncological Sciences at Mount Sinai School of Medicine focuses on research in psychosocial and biobehavioral issues related to cancer prevention and control. There are a variety of populations under study, including women at risk for breast cancer, breast cancer patients, women who have undergone BRCA1/2 testing, people who have had bone marrow/stem cell transplants, and patients with inflammatory bowel disease who have been referred for prophylactic surgery. The Mount Sinai School of Medicine is internationally recongized for innovative approaches to medical education and research. The School is seamlessly connected to Mount Sinai Hospital, one of the country's oldest and largest voluntary teaching hospitals.
