The Lavender Project is a volunteer-run, queer and trans-led nonprofit dedicated to providing free books, educational resources, and creative support to LGBTQIA2S+ individuals and communities. We operate as a mobile library and community initiative, bringing literature, events, and safe, affirming spaces to communities that often lack access, while fostering connection, learning, and creativity for all.
We operate a mobile library system, with local drop-off points so the community can borrow and return books easily. We also host events at local businesses and community spaces, giving away free diverse literature, running creative activities, connecting people to supportive networks, and hosting volunteer opportunities like trash clean-up or clothing swaps.
