The Ella J. Baker House
Sobre Nós
The Baker House mission is "mentoring, monitoring, and ministering to, high at-risk youth and the community". Baker House is considered a key player in Boston's efforts to reduce youth crime through: street outreach to youth; weekly strategy meetings of law enforcement, religous and social service organizations in the Four Corners section of the city; the after-school drop-in/homework help center; mentoring ex-offenders re-entering the community. Newsweek magazine used Baker House President Rev. Eugene F. Rivers, 3d on its June 1998 cover to feature the article "God vs. Gangs" about faith-based organizations steering youth away from crime.
