Red Wine & Blue
Missão
Red Wine and Blue is a national community of over half a million diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time. We train and connect women from across the country of all political backgrounds – including many who have never been political before – to get sh*t done and have fun along the way. Join us!
Sobre Nós
Friend-to-Friend Organizers
We know that the most effective way to make change is by talking to people. We know our country is divided and the best way to bring everyone together is one conversation at a time. We teach women how to strike up those conversations with friends, family, and neighbors, focusing on common sense and shared values.
A Trusted Source
We want everyone in our community to feel empowered to have hard conversations. We help with that by making sure everyone has access to factual information. Need an easy-to-understand explainer, fact sheet, or guide about an important issue? No problem. We’ve got you.
A Community
Suburban women have had enough of extreme politicians and outside groups trying to manipulate and silence us, so we’re working together, sharing ideas, and building on what works. We’re here to lift each other up and lean on each other when things are tough.
Contrary to what pundits say, suburban women don’t all look the same, think exactly alike, or drive matching minivans. We are a diverse group of women of all ages who find strength in our differences and hope in community.
OUR VALUES
We are relationship builders
We prioritize building strong connections and meaningful relationships with our team members, partners and the broader RWB community. Community and connections are prerequisite for lasting change. We recognize the value of collaboration and mutual respect in achieving our goals and deepening impact in communities.
We lead with love
We aim to handle every interaction and decision with empathy, compassion, and kindness, building a culture where care and support thrive. We are direct, clear, and kind in our delivery of feedback, but we do not shy away from saying the hard thing.
We are always learning
We embrace curiosity and continuous growth, actively seeking knowledge, feedback, and opportunities for development to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing world. We love diving into new things and grabbing every chance we get to collaborate and brainstorm new ideas, develop existing processes, and learn from each other.
We are inclusive and welcoming
Celebrating our diversity is at the heart of who we are. We work every day as individuals and as a team to ensure that our spaces create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. We seek to gather insight from our unique perspectives and talents.
We are resilient and bold
We face challenges with courage and determination, embracing change as an opportunity for growth, innovation, and transformation, while staying true to our values and vision. We are not fearless; instead, it’s the courage found within our fears that propels us to rise boldly and deliver with unwavering determination.
Diversity, equity, Inclusion and Justice
At Red Wine & Blue, we celebrate the rich diversity of suburban women and work hard to make sure everyone is seen, heard, and valued. Contrary to media stereotypes, suburban women are not all white – nor do we all act alike or drive matching minivans.
We acknowledge that women of color, particularly Black women, have shouldered a disproportionate burden of this work for far too long. We are committed to ensuring that we all do our part to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.
That means that these principles are not only grounded in our core values, but also in our daily practices:
Partnerships: We actively seek out partnerships with diverse local, state, and national organizations (big and small) that align with our values. We aim to broaden and deepen our impact through collaboration with partners who authentically represent their communities.
Messaging: How we show up makes a difference. We see our social media, podcasts and any other platform we can get our hands on as a tool to amplify diverse voices. We are on a mission to show the world that “suburban women” means way more than just one thing.
Listening before speaking: We’re not perfect, and we know it. We know it’s important to hear what others have to say, including when we may have missed the mark. We feel deeply about this work and the impact on communities across our nation and we know that transactional approaches are futile. We truly value locking arms and supporting each other, so if you’ve got thoughts, we’re all ears.
