Acara Hospice Foundation

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Acara Hospice Foundation is dedicated to supporting individuals with terminal illnesses and their families through compassionate care, meaningful experiences, and practical support. Our mission is rooted in bringing comfort, connection, and hope during life’s most tender season.

Through our Patient Wish Fund, we offer one-time grants to meet urgent or heartfelt needs. This can include help with groceries, rent, or utility bills—as well as comfort items like cozy blankets, music, or a cherished final wish. Whether it's a fishing trip with family or something as simple as adding a bird feeder outside the window, we aim to bring joy and relief, when every moment counts.

We also invest in community education and outreach surrounding hospice care. This includes advanced care planning, grief support, and access to hospice services. By hosting events, offering resources, and equipping caregivers, we help individuals and families feel informed and empowered in a difficult season.

Looking ahead, our vision includes opening a community hospice house a peaceful, eight-bed residence in a serene country setting. This space will provide a loving alternative for patients who are unable to receive hospice care at home. It’s a place where comfort, compassion, and dignity are at the heart of every moment.

We have opened a thrift store in downtown Bryan, TX. Brightside Thrift Shop is run entirely by volunteers, and that's no accident. Because our team donates their time and talents, every dollar we raise goes straight to our mission: supporting the Acara Hospice Foundation as we work to build a community hospice house.
