Our mission is to transform the lives of children with dyslexia and other invisible learning difficulties by raising awareness, empowering educators, and delivering evidence-based support, so that every child is seen, understood, and given the chance to thrive.
Dyslexia Organisation Kenya (DOK) is a purpose-driven nonprofit committed to transforming the lives of children and adults with dyslexia and other invisible learning difficulties. Born out of lived experience, DOK exists to challenge misunderstanding, end stigma, and replace failure narratives with evidence-based support, dignity, and opportunity.
At the heart of our work is Rare Gem Talent School—a safe, inclusive learning environment created for children who were misunderstood, overlooked, or left behind by mainstream education. Here, we prove every day that when children who learn differently are taught differently, they thrive. Beyond the classroom, we empower teachers, support families, influence policy, and build community awareness so that no child is labelled lazy, punished, or denied their potential because of how they learn.
