Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network

For more than 30 years, Mothers & Babies Perinatal Network has worked to connect and support families throughout our region. From education and parenting resources to advice and assistance with health insurance.

Our mission is to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes and support the health and development of individuals and families. To accomplish this, we educate our communities, connect individuals and families to health and other services, advocate for system improvements, and partner with other agencies, government and providers to help strengthen families.

We connect individuals and families to vital health and community services, ensuring families receive the help they need, when they need it most.

Behind every program stands a team of just 40 staff members whose tireless dedication, deep compassion, and relentless drive make this impact possible. We are a multilingual center with staff that speak Spanish, Mandarin, Urdu, Bengalese, and French Creole to attend the needs of our diverse population.

The Work We Do: Programs & Services

To translate mission into impact, Mothers & Babies runs a broad suite of programs, each targeting key moments in the life cycle of families:

Family Support Services / PAL Centers. Located in Johnson City, Binghamton, and Whitney Point, serve as safe, welcoming hubs for caregivers and children (ages 0–5). Families can come together, participate in parenting classes, access a clothing closet, socialize, and connect with local resources. More than just a drop-in center, PAL also supports supervised visits (for families with court‑mandated visitation needs) and embeds trauma‑informed care practices into daily operations.

Safe Sleep Support. Because infant sleep-related deaths are tragically common and largely preventable, Mothers & Babies offers safe sleep education and direct support to parents, caregivers, and community groups. They serve as the official regional chapter for the national Cribs for Kids program, helping families who can’t afford safe sleeping environments secure portable cribs.

Pregnancy to Age 2 Services. Under this umbrella, a range of targeted offerings are available, including: prenatal & birthing classes, support for breastfeeding, help navigating reproductive or prenatal care, postpartum depression & anxiety support, bereavement resources for loss.

Youth & Adolescent Programs. For youth ages 10–19, with the goal of reducing teen pregnancy, supporting reproductive health, offering education, and helping young people envision positive futures.

Health Insurance Navigation & Care Coordination. We help individuals and families enroll in health insurance, solve existing insurance problems, and help with care coordination (navigating the health system, referrals, etc.).
