The goals we hope to achieve through producing the Bridgeport Arts Fest include:
- Increasing the quality of life for Downtown residents, employees and students;
- Supporting and raising awareness of the local arts and cultural community;
- Promoting Downtown as an attractive and viable place to live, work and visit;
- Improving economic conditions for Downtown merchants, bars and restaurants;
- Fostering a sense of community amongst all who attend and participate;
- Showcasing McLevy Green and its surrounding array of historic architecture;
- Enhancing the local and regional perception of Downtown Bridgeport; and
- Improving and growing the event year after year.
These goals are achieved by meeting the following objectives:
- Creating a market for local Artists to exhibit, promote, network and vend;
- Providing high-quality entertainment for all ages and community members;
- Marketing and promoting local restaurants, bars, merchants, galleries, theatres and other cultural amenities;
- Attracting local and regional attendance;
- Ensuring an incident-free experience for all participants and attendees;
- Holding the event at McLevy Green and working with Parks, Public Facilities, DSSD and nearby property owners to ensure a clean and attractive setting;
- Providing adequate parking and way finding;
- Investing in high-quality marketing materials and well-placed advertisement;
- Generating an online presence via website, facebook page, twitter and email list;
- Raising adequate sponsorship funding;
- Involving local community organizations;
- Utilizing volunteers from throughout the community;
- Hosting public info sessions and fundraising events where artists and vendors can interact with one another and the public and develop a sense of team;
- Developing, distributing and collecting appropriate survey materials; and
- Praying to the weather Gods!
