Bridgeport Arts Fest

The goals we hope to achieve through producing the Bridgeport Arts Fest include:

1. Increasing the quality of life for Downtown residents, employees and students;
2. Supporting and raising awareness of the local arts and cultural community;
3. Promoting Downtown as an attractive and viable place to live, work and visit;
4. Improving economic conditions for Downtown merchants, bars and restaurants;
5. Fostering a sense of community amongst all who attend and participate;
6. Showcasing McLevy Green and its surrounding array of historic architecture;
7. Enhancing the local and regional perception of Downtown Bridgeport; and
8. Improving and growing the event year after year.

These goals are achieved by meeting the following objectives:

1. Creating a market for local Artists to exhibit, promote, network and vend;
2. Providing high-quality entertainment for all ages and community members;
3. Marketing and promoting local restaurants, bars, merchants, galleries, theatres and other cultural amenities;
4. Attracting local and regional attendance;
5. Ensuring an incident-free experience for all participants and attendees;
6. Holding the event at McLevy Green and working with Parks, Public Facilities, DSSD and nearby property owners to ensure a clean and attractive setting;
7. Providing adequate parking and way finding;
8. Investing in high-quality marketing materials and well-placed advertisement;
9. Generating an online presence via website, facebook page, twitter and email list;
10. Raising adequate sponsorship funding;
11. Involving local community organizations;
12. Utilizing volunteers from throughout the community;
13. Hosting public info sessions and fundraising events where artists and vendors can interact with one another and the public and develop a sense of team;
14. Developing, distributing and collecting appropriate survey materials; and
15. Praying to the weather Gods!
