Money for Madagascar

Money for Madagascar exists to help Malagasy communities reduce poverty and protect their environment through sustainable, community-led initiatives. Since 1986, we've worked alongside Malagasy men, women and children on the ground in Madagascar, tackling extreme poverty, poor health and education, food insecurity, deforestation, and biodiversity loss — always led by the priorities of the communities we work with.

Madagascar is home to roughly 5% of the world's plant and animal species, most found nowhere else on Earth — but it's also a country in crisis, with income, health and education levels among the lowest globally. We believe lasting change has to be community-led, so our programmes are designed and delivered with local partners rather than imposed from outside. We're a UK-registered charity with a team based in both the UK and Madagascar, working on livelihoods, conservation, education, and disaster resilience. Our vision is simple: all communities in Madagascar living with dignity, free from poverty, in harmony with the environment.
