Sobre Nós

Established in 1982, the Jaffa institute is a private, non-profit, multi-service social agency that assists severely disadvantaged children and their families from the impoverished communities of Jaffa, South Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, and Bet Shemesh in Israel. Our mission is to provide these children and their families with educational, nutritional, therapeutic, and social enrichment programs that develop their positive attitudes and skills to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Holistic in approach and responsive to the diverse needs of those we serve, the Jaffa Institute operates over 35 different programs, including crisis residences for at-risk youth, educational enrichment centers, food security initiatives, support to elderly individuals and Holocaust survivors, and women’s empowerment programs. With the support of approximately 6,500 dedicated volunteers throughout the year – including local residents and international visitors – the Jaffa Institute provides service and relief to over 4,000 individuals annually. In 2001, the Institute was awarded the President’s Prize for Most Outstanding Voluntary Organization.
