New Moon Farm Sanctuary is currently seeking regular, weekly team members for shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We ask new volunteers to commit to a 2 hour shift, once a week for at least 6 months. Hours are flexible. After an initial orientation session, volunteers work independently on the farm. The shift tasks include basic chores such as cleaning the barns and pastures, scrubbing water tubs and of course, hanging with the animals! It's definitely manual labor - you must be able to lift 25+ pounds, work with shovels, rakes and brooms, and navigate uneven terrain.
The energy at New Moon is peaceful and positive. Working with your hands, surrounded by content animals is grounding. We have volunteers who have been coming to the farm weekly for many years, driving from over an hour away because it has become a sanctuary for them as well.
