Love animals? Farm sanctuary caretakers needed!

New Moon Farm Sanctuary is looking for a few new team members for our regular, weekly shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, time is flexible. We ask volunteers to commit to a 2 hour shift, once a week for at least 6 months.

Come hang out with our happy herd of goats, sheep, donkeys and horses as you help maintain their living spaces. Spending time at our peaceful sanctuary is healing for both animals and people, and we have volunteers who have been coming to the farm for 10+ years. After an initial orientation session volunteers work independently on the farm; shifts can be scheduled between 9am and 5pm on the chosen day. Chores include cleaning the barns, paddocks and pastures, scrubbing & filling water tubs, and other tasks as assigned. Of course, hanging out with the animals is the best part!

We are looking for long term volunteers, not community or high school service requirements. All volunteers must be able to lift 25+ pounds, push and dump a full wheelbarrow, work with shovels, rakes and brooms, navigate uneven terrain, and be comfortable working around large animals (or willing to learn enough about them to get comfortable). Minimum age is 16.

The energy at New Moon is peaceful and positive, and the location is beautiful. Working with your hands outside, surrounded by content animals connects you to nature, which is truly grounding. We hope you will consider joining our team!
