Impact area: Basic Needs (food, clothing, housing)

Location: Hartford, CT

Hours: Thursdays, 10:00am-3:00pm; Fridays, 3:00-6:00pm

Desired level of commitment: At least twice per month

Duration: Year-round

Age requirement: 18+

Tasks may include:

• Leading the provision of a meal for 100 people with provided ingredients
• Prepping, cooking and serving a meal

In order to volunteer you should be:

• A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
• Willing to attend an orientation and training prior to volunteering
• Willing to submit a background check
• Open to an ongoing volunteer opportunity that works with your schedule
• Willing to assist another chef three times prior to serving as a chef
• An experienced cook or chef
• Willing to take initiative
• Personable
• Reliable
• Honest
• Patient
