Location: Richmond Animal League - Front Desk (aka the Heart of the Action)

Shifts: 2-3 hours of good vibes and wagging tails

About You

You’re a natural greeter, a helper at heart, and the kind of person who waves at dogs and chats with strangers in the checkout line. Headsets don’t intimidate you. Sticky situations? You’re cool, calm, and collected - and maybe even cracking a joke.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a front desk volunteer, you’ll be the first friendly face (and voice) folks encounter at RAL. Your role helps keep things running smoothly and makes every visitor - two- or four-legged - feel welcome.

• Answer phones and voicemails with compassion and clarity
• Log messages and visitor sign-ins (organization is your love language)
• Accept packages and donations with a smile - and maybe a signature
• Keep our lobby tidy, welcoming, and full of good energy
• Provide info on resources like rehoming, spay/neuter, and our pet food pantry
• Be the first smile people see when they walk through our doors

• Loves people and enjoys talking with all kinds of folks
• Can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball (or the biscuit)
• Brings patience and calm, even when things get busy
• Radiates kindness, even over the phone
