Secretary & Communications Director
The Secretary & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in keeping the board
organized, informed, and connected. This board member is responsible for maintaining
accurate records, documenting meeting minutes, and ensuring timely communication among
board members.
Responsibilities include preparing and distributing meeting agendas, recording and storing
official minutes, tracking action items, and maintaining important organizational
documents. This role ensures compliance with governance requirements and helps keep
board operations running smoothly.
In addition, the Secretary supports internal communication by sharing updates,
coordinating correspondence, and helping ensure all board members stay informed and
engaged. They may also assist with basic external communications, such as newsletters or
announcements, in collaboration with leadership.
Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong communicators, with the
ability to manage information clearly and efficiently. This role is essential in fostering
transparency, accountability, and effective collaboration across the board.
This role may oversee or collaborate with:
Administrative or clerical volunteers
Communications or marketing volunteers
Newsletter or content coordinators
Meeting or event scheduling support
Document management or records coordinator
