Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in a safe, supervised setting
- Support each child’s social, emotional development with patience, encouragement and positive engagement
- Assist with snack and mealtimes, creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive experience.
- Promote and engage children in age-appropriate play, storytelling, and creative activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming play space that ensures safety and comfort.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents, staff, and fellow volunteers while consistently following all health and safety guidelines at all times.
Expectations:
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Follow established organizational systems and guidance from the Workforce Team.
- Be professional, maintain strict confidentiality and respect for all families and children
Qualifications:
- Dependable, detail-oriented, commitment to providing quality care and follow-through.
- Patient, nurturing, welcoming to both adult students, young children, and infants
- Enthusiastically, engage children through reading, singing, games and interactive activities.
- Comfortable with light lifting and active, hands-on participation in daily childcare routines.
- Prior experience is helpful but not required; training and support are provided.
- Background check required.
