Video Creator/Editor: The Disability Rights Movement Needs You!!

Help create a short, powerful video inspiring people with disabilities to vote — using public domain footage, captions & voiceover!

Description:

Moceans Center for Independent Living, a 501c3 non-for-profit organization is creating a short, powerful video showing how generations of activists — from suffragettes to civil rights and disability rights leaders — fought for the right to vote.

We’re seeking a creative, sensitive video editor/creator to compile free public domain and royalty-free footage into a 1–3 minute video with closed captions and a voiceover reminding viewers that voting is both a privilege and a right.

If you’re passionate about inclusion, history, or civic engagement — and want to use your video skills for good — we’d love to collaborate!

Responsibilities:

• Edit a 1–3 minute awareness video using free or public domain footage.
• Add captions and short voiceover (script can be provided).
• Collaborate virtually with our small team, taking direction but working independently.
• Be open to feedback, edits, and a collaborative review process.

Requirements / Skills:

• Video editing experience (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, etc.)
• Clear, responsive communication
• Respectful and nonpartisan approach
• Sensitivity to diverse histories and disability rights issues
• Bonus: experience with captioning or accessibility standards

When & Where:

• 100% Remote
• Flexible schedule (short-term project, but we'd love to build an ongoing relationship)
• Virtual/email interview before start
