đ
Every day, millions of people navigate a world they cannot see. For them, simple tasksâcrossing a street, reading a letter, or finding a familiar faceâcan be filled with uncertainty.
Did you know?
- Over 2 billion people worldwide have a vision impairment or blindness.
- In the U.S. alone, more than 7 million adults are blind or have serious difficulty seeingâeven with glasses.
- Connecticut has several thousand residents who are blind and an agency to assist them.
- And yet, many live in silence and isolation, simply because they donât have someone to walk beside them.
That someone could be you.
Volunteering with the blind isnât just about helpingâitâs about connecting. Itâs about being a steady hand, a warm voice, and a reminder that they are not alone.
Why volunteer?
- Because your time can restore someoneâs independence.
- Because your kindness can replace fear with confidence.
- Because your presence can turn a dark moment into one filled with light.
You donât need experienceâjust empathy, patience, and a heart thatâs open.
Youâll change a life. And it might just be your own.
đ Step into someoneâs world. Help them see the beauty in itâwith you by their side.
