Every day, millions of people navigate a world they cannot see. For them, simple tasks鈥攃rossing a street, reading a letter, or finding a familiar face鈥攃an be filled with uncertainty.
Did you know?
- Over 2 billion people worldwide have a vision impairment or blindness.
- In the U.S. alone, more than 7 million adults are blind or have serious difficulty seeing鈥攅ven with glasses.
- Connecticut has several thousand residents who are blind and an agency to assist them.
- And yet, many live in silence and isolation, simply because they don鈥檛 have someone to walk beside them.
That someone could be you.
Volunteering with the blind isn鈥檛 just about helping鈥攊t鈥檚 about connecting. It鈥檚 about being a steady hand, a warm voice, and a reminder that they are not alone.
